At Costa de Valencia, School of Spanish we do not agree with the idea that learning Spanish is solely confined to being able to speak and understand, but that it should also include learning about the culture and lifestyle of modern Spanish society.
For this reason, we give great importance to the socio-cultural and free time activities carefully organised daily for our students.
In agreement with our slogan “Come, learn Spanish…and live it!”, we hope that our students get to know and participate in the day to day life of the city and feel more like a Valencian.
It is obvious that with the wide range of activities on offer, our students enjoy themselves, while learning Spanish, after their classes, through our “little holidays” into our community.
Our students recommend us! Read their opinions and experienceswith our socio-cultural, sporting and leisure activities!
Each Friday we put up the activities for the coming week. If you would like to keep up to date with the extra-curricular activities, you can find them at our Weekly programme of socio-cultural, sport and leisure activities. If a student wishes to participate in any of them, all he/she has to do is put their name on the sheet that he/she will find in the school. It is free to participate in the activities; the only things that students will need to pay for are the transport (e.g. the bus ticket), their own admissions (e.g. the cinema ticket) or their consumptions (e.g. drinks).
To take part in the extra-curricular acitvities no knowledge of Spanish is required; the possibililty of translating the explications is always given by the supervisor.
If you do have health problems, please ask if there are any medical restrictions on the extra-curricular activities.
Here you can find the activities for the year 2013
Every Monday, we welcome our students with a paella. |

At weekends, we organise nights out, or whole day excursions, for example to the nature reserve of Albufera, the theme park at Terra Mítica, extreme sports such as rafting etc. or trips to the towns and villages surrounding Valencia. Costs incurred during said trips are not included in the course fee. |
Each day we organise up to 4 activities so that students can learn about the city, enjoy themselves, practice their Spanish and take part in typical Spanish customs and celebrations, in and around Valencia: visiting museums, typical meals, fiestas, sporting activities, nights out etc. |

We also attend the typical fiestas of the city and of its surrounding areas, such as las Fallas, La Tomatina, Moors and Christians, etc. |
During Fallas, we design a programme specially adapted so that our students can understand the festival better and experience each of its varied events: mascletás, fireworks, processions, parades, concerts, parties which last all day and night etc.
For the students who are fond of sports, a big city such as Valencia on the coast of the Mediterranean, offers you the chance to practice any sport you like.
We will help you to contact people who wish to practice the same sport as you, so feel free to speak to anyone at school. If you wish to ask something in advance, do not hesitate to contact us.
If you wish to keep fit by going to the gym, speak to our school secretary who can put you in contact with a gym nearby the school where students at Costa de Valencia, School of Spanish enjoy discounts.
| If you wish to play a team sport, we can organise matches at the beach (football, basketball, volleyball etc.). If you wish to play with friends, and you don’t have a ball, we can lend you one. | ![]() |
Moreover, in summer, Costa de Valencia, School of Spanish takes part in the sports tournaments organised at the beach, giving our students another chance to get involved with Valencians.
If you love golf, there are more than 20 courses where you can enjoy your sport in lovely weather conditions the whole year.
If you prefer to be a spectator, Valencia is and has been the home of several major sporting events, such as the America’s Cup, Formula One Gran Prix, Moto Grand Prix, Tennis Open of Valencia etc.
In a seaside town as Valencia, there are many activities which you can take part in. The sea is easy to reach via metro, tram or bus. During the summer months, the beach becomes the hustle and bustle of the city due to its open air clubs carrying the party on into the early hours of the morning.
If you like to dance, you can enrol one of the free Flamenco courses that we organise during the week, or go and see an authentic Flamenco show in one of the many places that put on shows. Other dances, such as Sevillanas or Tango can also be practiced – tell us what you would like to do and we can point you in the right direction.
Apart form the activities organised by the school, we are open to suggestions from students, we also want to know what they would like to do. We have at our disposition a lot of information on various activities that can be done in and around the city, available in many languages so that students can consult that information and organise their own free time or propose to the school to include the activities they want, in their free time programme.
The students can also add to this information, or in our notice board of activities, there are always alternative activities which can be realized if there are enough students interested.
Our free time activity programme ensures that our students have a great time while learning Spanish.
