Learning Spanish in Valencia while enjoying soccer games and “correfuegos”
A group of international students join Valencia CF soccer games and local festivals while having Spanish lessons.
Valencia. Learning Spanish in Valencia doesn’t mean just turning up for the lessons and going home to do homework. Learning Spanish in Valencia is much more: it’s not only having lessons and studying (which is necessary to learn any language, of course), but also hanging around with the classmates and the Spanish teachers. It definitely means having a good time. In this respect, this week was a special week. Valencia CF has joined the Champions League and the students of Costa de Valencia, Spanish Language School, could attend the match against the Schalke 04 German team. There was a feeling of festivity in the air and even the German students from our school supported Valencia CF. They even sang the team supporting songs! The students had an opportunity to add some colloquial Spanish words to their knowledge, above all, at the end of the game, when Raul, an ex Real Madrid player, scored the impressive goal. The soccer game was the main activity of the week, but not the only one. On Friday evening, the students enjoyed a fire demonstration in honour of the virgin, in Campanar. This action, the “correfuegos”, shows the love that Valencian people have for fire and gunpowder. For Costa de Valencia, Spanish Language School, these activities are part of the day to day programme of activities. The daily activities include all kind of visits, from downtown guided tours, museums and night walks to have a different point of view of the city, to the participation in beach soccer tournaments or local festivals. There are already some groups to be part of the paellas competition during the Fallas time. The process of studying the Spanish language becomes an unforgettable experience, full of new impressions. This helps to achieve success while learning Spanish.

Au-pair in Valencia: the best way to learn Spanish
A Spanish school for foreigners organizes long duration courses for au-.pairs.
Valencia. 17.02.11 Learning Spanish in Spain is with no doubts the best way to learn the language: it implies living the language, and not only studying its grammar. Despite of this, not everyone can afford to move to Spain to study Spanish: the living expenses in a foreign country can be pretty high, not to mention the price of a language course. A good way to study abroad without spending too much is to work as an au-pair in a Spanish family: that’s what Kira, a girl form Germany, did in order to improve her Spanish. A school of Spanish for foreigners helped her finding a family that needed an au-pair and in the end Kira had the chance to spend a year in Valencia, working with the family and attending a long duration Spanish course at the same school that helped her finding the family. Kira was very satisfied with this experience: “It was a very positive experience. Working as an au-pair gave me the chance to improve my Spanish and, what’s more, I didn’t have to worry too much about money because by working with the family I gained what I needed to pay the Spanish course and to go out and enjoy the city of Valencia.” Kira also tells us the advantages of attending a long duration course rather than an intensive course: -“This way you have more time to familiarize with your teachers and become friends with other students. In addition by living with a Spanish family I could experience Spanish culture from the inside.” Like Kira many students decide to attend long duration Spanish courses which combine the study of the language in class with real life, not only for a few weeks, but for a long period of time. Costa de Valencia, school of Spanish, offers a wide range of courses and long duration courses are part of the offer. This type of course, offered in different levels, is perfect for those students who want to learn the language little by little, and not in an intensive way. The school has a long experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners and is officially recognized by the Instituto Cervantes as a centre for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and is an integral part of the Network of Cervantes Institute Associates.

Erasmus students do study a lot!
Long duration Spanish courses especially designed for Erasmus students.
Valencia. 17.02.11The Comunidad Valenciana is an ideal destination for students who wish to take part in the Erasmus programme. Valencia is the third biggest Spanish city to welcome Eramsus students after Madrid and Granada. Its beaches, nice weather, nightlife and cultural attractions are the main reasons why so many people choose Valencia as destination for their Erasmus. But we wonder: “Is it really true what people say about Erasmus students, that they choose Valencia only to have fun and go to parties??” A group of students of Spanish as a foreign language, some Erasmus students and young people who live in Valencia answer our question. Tobias A., a German student, explains how Spanish is nowadays the third most spoken language in the world: “That’s why I decided to do my Erasmus in Spain. And, as soon as I arrived here, I realized that I should have taken advantage of my stay in Valencia to improve my Spanish. What I needed was a Spanish course that would fit with my classes at university and, after a deep research, I’m glad to say that I found Costa de Valencia, school of Spanish, a language school that offered exactly was I was looking for. Mohamed, from Holland: “When I arrived in Valencia I started a free Spanish course at the university’s language centre, but there were so many students that it was impossible for me to learn Spanish properly. Now I attend a long duration course at Costa de Valencia, school of Spanish: here the classes are small and each student has the opportunity to participate in class and improve their Spanish rapidly. “Erasmus students do not only think about having fun and going to parties. My aim is to take the DELE exam in May, that’s why I looked for a high quality Spanish course. When I found Costa the Valencia, school of Spanish, I was very satisfied with the courses they offered. I started a long duration course combined with a course in preparation for the DELE exam and. The positive thing of thus school is that the time of the courses are flexible and was able to attend it without having to worry about missing my classes at university. Furthermore, all the teachers are Spanish native speakers, all graduated and with a long experience in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. Schoolclasses and groups of students go on language study travel
With the end of summer, the time starts where language schools in Valencia welcome new and old groups of language travellers
Each language goup participate in a programm that is especially developed for them. The spanish language school Costa de Valencia pays attention to the fact that extracurricular activities correspond to the demands of each group. Therefore, size, origin, duration of stay and register of the groups are considered. Both lessons and extracurricular activities are adapted to the language groups. That’s why italian school classes experience and attend a different programm of lessons and activities than a scandinavian group of students, for example. Italian pupils, for instant, would not be interested in visiting historical buildings, as they have probably seen many of them in Italy and would be bored. Besides of the extracurricular activities, the spanish language school Costa de Valencia offers a variety of language courses, such as an intensive course. When arranging classes the school pays attention to the number of students in one class and level of language of each student. So there are at least 3 but no more than 12 students in one course. Levels of language courses are thaught from A1 to C2. Thanks to small classes, it is easier for spanish students to learn the language or to improve their language skills. The spanish language school Costa de Valencia is specialized in teaching spanish as a foreign language. Since 2004 it is recignized by the Cervantes Institute and correspond to the requested high standart of Quality. The touristic packet also includes accomodation of the language students. To live in a spanish hostfamily is the best chance to improve spanish skills and to get to know the spanish way of life. There is also the possibility to live in one of the universitiy’s flats. This option is especially used by school classes during the semester break. For teachers it is also quite useful as their students are all in one building. As you don’t learn the spanish language only in classes, the spanish language school Costa de Valencia offers their students a huge variety of extracurricular activities. Popular excursions for school classes are for example a visit to the historical city center of Valencia and to the modern city of arts and sciences, as well as the Bioparc and the nature reserve Albufera. Althoug the summer draws to a close the spanish language schools still offer their students a huge variety of activities to make their language stay more diversified. Last weekend the spanish students went to Javea which is situated in the south of Valencia. There they enjoyed the beautiful view of Kap Sankt Antonio, watched the fiesta Bous a la mar and participated in a paella competition. Another event that is worth seeing is the marching in of bulls and horses in Segorbe next week. Furthermore the trip to Peñon D´Ifac in Calpe is very interesting as you get to know it’t history and relax at the beautiful beaches. Besides, the spanish football league starts again and in addition to home matches, the spanish language school Costa de Valencia organizes a daily trip to Alicante to cheer on the team of Valencia C.F. at night and to visit the most interesting parts of the town during the day. In October and December the spanish language school organises trips Madrid and Barcelona to both support the Valencia C.F. and of course, to show the students the two cities. All year, the language schools offer extracurricular activities, such as salsa courses, pealla parties and flamenco spectacles. Besides, Valencia itself has plenty to offer, for examample a beautiful historical city center and the modern city of arts and science. Although the summer draws to a close it is not over yet and there are still a lot of things to do and to see. So take a deep breath and be prepared for all the things that are going on in September.

Spanish students are delighted by the spanish and valencian cuisine
A group of italian spanish students take part on a report about the Spanish and valencian cuisine.
During the cooking lessons the 24 italian students were taught that this spanish cuisine which is also called mediterranean diet- was strongly influenced by the civilization that conquered Spain as well as by spanish colonies. Furthermore they learned the most important ingredients, such as vegetables, fruits, fish, as well desserts and beverages with and without alcohol. Another important component when talking about Mediterranean cuisine are tapas. A video clip showed the most popular tapas that can be ordered in Spanish restaurants. After this video the students became a bit hungry. The italian group which is staying at the language school Costa de Valencia really enjoyed the report about the typical Spanish food. They would have never imagined that the Spanish cuisine was so varied. Another topic was the valencian gastronomy. Everyone knows that Italian people are very ambitious when it gets to cook pasta, so they could understand the Spanish people that their rice has to be made perfectly, too. The students were also told that a typical paella is not made of seafood but of chicken and rabbit. The group was impressed by the variety of rice dishes in the different regions of the Comunidad Valencia. The next day the spanish students visited the central market of Valencia. In small groups they had the task to buy indigents for making tapas with money they were given. So this night the students had a little competition with cooking tapas. Finally a sweet tapa with fruits, creme and chocolate syrup won the first price.

Excursion to the spanish history
Last Sunday a group of students of a Spanish language school in Valencia hit the road to learn more about the spanish culture..
As there was a lot do this Sunday, the journey already started early in the morning. Before they were going to discover Peñiscola, the students visited Sagunt. Sagunt lies close to Valencia and is a city full of history. It was already built before Christ and its citizens have long offered opposition against the Romans until they finally felled under their rule. Being told all this by a native spanish speaker in a vividly way while actually standing on the ruins, is even more impressive. In Peñiscola the language students found themselves in the same situation. There a local guide showed them through the castle walls and the basement vault, in which Templar used to live once. There task was to protect the antipope “Papa Luna” who resided in Peñiscola. In a bar with tapas and sangria just next to the sea, the students finished off their day. This atmosphere made it easier for them to use the spanish knowledge they have just learned the week before. And there will always be a good topic to start off a spanish conversation. This is exactly what the spanish language school Costa de Valencia that is recognized by the Cervantes Institute is intending to do. To learn the spanish language should be as easy and at the same time as efficiently, for the language students, as possible. With up to four different extracurricular activities a day, the spanish language school attracts students from all over the world that want to get to know the spanish culture and language with a lot of fun and at first hand. Tired from all the experiences and the new knowledge the students have made this day, they got back to Valencia late at night. During the lessons at the following day they exchanged there experience with other spanish students.

Discussion about bulls helps to learn Spanish
Bullfighting – is it cruelty or the complete opposite, art of centuries of tradition? Also spanish language students have wild discussions about this issue..
Last week the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia offered their students a report about bulls in their extracurricular activity program. Main issues were a general explanation of the term bullfighting, its elements and contents, as well as the valencian way of bull-running. To enable a discussion afterwards, all facts and data given about this typical Spanish tradition were as objective as possible.
As expected the opinions of the language students were as different as those of the spanish people. There are at least as many pros as cons and this made it hard to position oneself. Whether it is cruelty to animals or not, whether you do already harm to them when consuming meat or not, these are even more arguments for pro and con.
“It is really difficult for a Spanish teacher who is teaching non-native speaker, to make the students speak free and to make them use the knowledge they have just learn in practice”, stated Sandra, instructor and the person responsible for extracurricular activities.”For this special reason this topic is perfect. Only a view people cannot make up their own mind for this discussion.”
This activity of the Spanish language school was not only for getting to know the Spanish culture better and practicing the language, but to improve the spanish language skills. Relating to bullfighting there are also a lot of different typical expressions that need explanation, such as “to cut ears”, or “to enter the big entrance door “.
A video about the different contents of the bullfighting rounded off the theoretical part of the report. Afterwards the spanish language students visited Valencias museum of bullfighting which is the oldest in Spain. Then there was the possibility to visit the bullfighting arena and to see such an institution at first hand.
This activity has been a great success for the spanish language students: they got to know a part of the very typical culture and could mix business with pleasure. They practiced and even improved their spanish language skills.

Three cheers for the spanish fiesta
Students of a Spanish language school use theyr stay in Valencia to visit a typical Spanish fair.
Learning Spanish is more than learning vocabulary, conjugating verbs or swotting up on grammar. Also, it’s not only about attending classes at school every day and doing homework. To learn a language by heart means to get to know the people and the culture at the first place. In the end, fiestas are an important part of the Spanish culture. Especially for this reason, the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia offers a wide range of socio-cultural activities, such as sightseeing, and various trips outside Valencia. “ Not only during the summertime we are visiting fiestas as Tomatina de Buñol or Bous a la mar in Javea, just to name two of them”, stated A. Tessmer, the manager of the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia. “Even during the wintertime we organize trips to the fair “Hogueras de San Antonio” in Canals, to the away games of the Valencia C.F against Madrid and Barcelona and many other activities. However, it’s summertime and the students have the unique opportunity to get to know and to experience the Spanish culture with its various village fairs. Therefore, the last weekend in Picasent has been the perfect place to marvel at the cultural heritage of different villages in the Region of Valencia. For this special day the students left theirs watches at home, as the Fiesta starts at noon and is celebrated until late at night. Even the heat was no obstacle to party extensively; there are kinds of watering installations for people in the clubs of Picasent. When the heat is getting unbearable, an alarm signal rings out and everything is getting swamped. Wet, with music in the clubs and free heeling bulls in the streets, last weekend the Spanish language students were enjoining an event which has nothing comparable in their home country and which they will always remember. It is indeed a special experience, especially because of the bulls. Whether it is tradition over centuries or abuse of animals…everyone has to make up his own mind about this issue. For the following days the bulls were the main topic during the Spanish lessons. The students opinion about it were as split as those of the Spanish people.

Small Volleyball- Worldcup at the Beach of Valencia
Spanish students from all over the world participate in a beach volleyball competition in Valencia.
Students of the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia took this chance to make out their best team. The participants came from the whole of Europe, Japan, Korea and even students from the United States could form a team. The Match went on until late at night until there was only a German team and a team of Spanish, Russian and Swiss players left. In the end it was the German students that made the decisive point. Despite all the emotions during the game, the usage of the Spanish language was equally important. For this is the actual reason of their stay in Valencia for a couple of weeks. It was even harder for those students who have just started to learn Spanish. Their task was to announce the score. All present teachers of the language school made sure that they would not make any mistake. For advanced students it was a bit easier. They were already able to discuss disputed moves as well as private conversation outside the playing field. After all it is a holiday and plans for the next couple of days have to be made. Therefore advises from other students that have already been in Valencia for a while are very welcome. The Spanish language school Costa de Valencia is centre that is recognized by the Cervantes Institute and offers its students daily up to 4 extracurricular activities, such visits to the historical city centre, sport activities and trips to the closer and further surrounding areas. For this reason, all games of the football world cup have been watched together and triumph of the Spanish team has been celebrated At the end of the competition everyone took a bath at the Mediterranean, as a refreshment and reward. An unique experience that is only possible at a volley ball match at the beach.

Trip to Xativa: The students of the Spanish school Costa de Valencia walk through medieval ruins
During their language holidays in Spain, the students of a language school in Valencia spent their free Saturday doing an excursion to the nearby historical town of Xativa to have a look at the medieval ruins of the region of Valencia. The visit to the historical old town and the castle not only provided them with new impressions, but also it helped to improve their already acquired Spanish language skills in their intensive Spanish lessons..
Not only is the capital of the Valencian region worth of visit. The neighboring cities have many fascinating things to offer. This is also one of the things that a group of students of Spanish had learned last Saturday with the school of Spanish Costa de Valencia. They went on a trip to Xativa, which is a small town located 50 kilometers away from the city of Valencia and it is culturally and historically one of the most important cities of the region. Under the brilliant sunshine, the group went on its way to the castle of Xativa, where you could have a spectacular view of the city. This beautiful scenery compensates for the somehow arduous climb to the castle. The town of Xativa impressed the students with its many historical buildings and the incomparably nice atmosphere, so that the students took home a lot of unforgettable positive experiences at the end of the day. Apart from their Spanish lessons in Costa de Valencia, the Language School gives great importance to this kind of activities, where they practice their Spanish as well as they enjoy and get to know the Valencian nature and the Spanish culture. At the same time that they have fun, they also have a great opportunity to improve and to strengthen the Spanish language skills, which they have already acquired during the morning lessons, participating in these activities; besides, it is also important that most students come from different countries, thus their conversations are usually in Spanish. In this way they improve their Spanish without being really aware of it. Because of that, the language holidays in Spain, both linguistically and culturally considered, are always a great success. Therefore, whoever is looking for a language school in Valencia, where you have a varied leisure program, as well as a high-quality language training doing an intensive Spanish course, should go to the school of Spanish Costa de Valencia.

Everyone who books a Spanish course at Costa de Valencia receives a certified Spanish crash course and also many possibilities to dive into the Spanish and Valencian culture. Recently, a group of students from Germany has experienced all of these too. They got to know a lot about Valencia during the Gymkhana game and they also had to frequently interact with the Valencian population. A lot of fun and a lot of interesting knowledge were guaranteed..
Valencia. Valencia Gymkhana is a game which suited the students of Spanish particularly well for getting to know a city with all its details and traditions and for interacting with the local population. Yesterday, a German group of Spanish students of the Spanish school Costa de Valencia participated in this playful competition and they had to solve different tasks and questions on different places in the historic centre of Valencia. This meant not only a lot of fun, but also provided them with a lot of knowledge about the city of Valencia. No matter whether the pupils had to find out how the three gates of the cathedral of Valencia were called, what the heraldic animal of the town was or which ingredients a paella contained – the students always had to ask passers-by for help and Spanish was the only language they could use to do their questions. Thus the pupils’ Spanish knowledge, which they had acquired during the day in their Spanish intensive course or in their Spanish-single lessons, was also improved during this game. “In such a playful competition it is much easier for many students to overcome their inhibitions when talking in the Spanish language.” said Andreas Teßmer, manager of the language school. The German group in the yesterday's Gymkhana evening could also enjoy this experience. In this way, they had a funny and successful evening and could collect and exchange many new impressions and experiences. Because for the Spanish school Costa de Valencia is very important that their students have high-quality lessons, the possibility to collect exactly such impressions during their language immersion holidays and that they remember with fond memories not only their Spanish crash course, but also the city and the culture of Valencia.

The students of Spanish of the school Costa de Valencia do not spend their language courses all the time inside the classroom; they combine their language lessons in Spain with a beach party on the beach of Valencia..
Valencia. To learn Spanish in Valencia means at the language school of Costa de Valencia not only stubborn grammar drills, but also a lot of fun with fellow students from all around the world. Because of that, last Friday the school organized a beach party for all of the students, who were partying together until the early hours of the morning. Even outside their Spanish classes the students have the opportunity to learn and practice their Spanish, but they also have the opportunity to get to know better all their classmates and make good friends. “When our students of Spanish join this kind of activities, they improve their Spanish language level without being really aware of it. In such activities Spanish is usually the only common language. In this way, they reinforced the knowledge of Spanish that they have already acquired and it helps them very much when they have to face other real life situations.” said Andreas Teßmer, the director manager of the school in Valencia. For this reason, the school Costa de Valencia, which is in the heart of Valencia, puts a great emphasis on providing a wide variety of other interesting activities in addition to their Spanish courses. Spanish course combined with nature
Language students of the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia make a bicycle tour during their Spanish course in Valencia and explore the nature beach "El Saler"..
Valenica. Although Valencia is very fascinating with its countless cultural and architectural highlights, it is good to leave the city from time to time to spend a day in the nature of the valencian surroundings. In this respect, the valencian vicinity offers many possibilities. Accordingly, the language students of the Spanish school Costa de Valencia did a bicycle tour to the nature beach El Saler on the past weekend. The aim of this excursion was not only to reach the wonderful, quiet beach, but the journey was its own reward. The surrounding area of Valencia offers cyclists unique views of the scenery with pine woods, fields and lakes. Besides, the language students had many opportunities to improve their Spanish knowledge in conversations with other students during the bicycle tour and during the picnic break. The students mostly have different origins and, therefore, Spanish is often the only common language. In this manner, they unconsciously improved their Spanish knowledge and, at the same time, they had so much fun together that the participants formed friendships rapidly. Usually these friendships even continue after the language learning holidays in Valencia. Arriving at the beach of El Saler, many students were speechless because the sight of the apparently untouched dune scenery is extremely impressive and is one of the nicest places in Spain. For the language school Costa de Valencia it is very important to enable its students to get such impressions beside of their language course in Valencia and to support Spanish conversation during such excursions. People who would like to get many varied impressions of Valencia and its environs beside their Spanish course are in good hands with this Spanish school.

The registration period for teachers training courses E/LE at the Spanish school Costa de Valencia has begun
Besides its regular Spanish courses in Valencia, the Spanish school Costa de Valencia offers advanced trainings for teachers who teach Spanish as a foreign language again this year. This way the school presents an irresistible offer for language holidays in Spain.
Valencia. Over the last years, more and more students have decided to become Spanish teachers, just as there is an increasing number of schools who offer Spanish courses to their students. Unfortunately, this impetus of the Spanish language as a frequently taught foreign language does not correspond to a rising quality of teacher training. The different universities mostly offer classes of Spanish philology, Spanish within a teacher training course etc., but no courses that are especially created for teachers who teach Spanish as a foreign language. Moreover, teachers who have already been working for a long time are offered only a few possibilities of advanced trainings. However, teachers and Spanish students who would like to undertake further training do have the possibility to engage the services of different organisations such as the classes of Instituto Cervantes or of its network of accredited centres. Every year, this institution organises about 500 courses and seminars in cooperation with many universities and educational institutions. As one of those educational institutions, the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia has decided to offer teacher training courses for Spanish as a foreign language, briefly E/LE (Español Como Lengua Extranjera), besides its regular offer of Spanish courses, this year. These courses are specified on the interests of Spanish teachers and students and they refresh linguistic knowledge as well as didactic and methodical experience. Besides, the theoretical knowledge is also immediately applied under supervision during real teaching situations in the Spanish courses. This year, Costa de Valencia offers two-week E/LE courses in July, October and December. If you are interested in E/LE courses or in Spanish courses in Valencia in general or if you want to spend language holidays in Spain, you will find further information on the homepage of the Spanish school Costa de Valencia: www.costadevalencia.com

Language students of Costa de Valencia exchange their Spanish classes in Valencia for a trip to Madrid
The students of Costa de Valencia - a language school that offers Spanish lessons in Valencia - used yesterday’s soccer match Real Madrid vs. Valencia C.F. as an opportunity to set off to Madrid during their vacation to learn Spanish in Valencia, discovering the fascinating metropolis during the day and cheering up their team in the Valencian fan deck in the evening.
Those who do not only expect simple Spanish lessons during their language stay in Spain, but would also like to discover the Spanish culture and different Spanish towns, are in safe hands with the school Costa de Valencia. Because to this language institute it is very important to provide its students not only with highly qualified Spanish lessons and a well-versed team of teachers but also to equip them with knowledge about the cultures and traditions of Spain by means of a broadly diversified leisure programme. Besides, successful learning always has to imply a certain amount of fun! Therefore, last Sunday, a group of 29 language students from Valencia went to Madrid to discover the different facets of the Spanish capital and to keep their fingers crossed for the Valencia C.F in its match against Real Madrid. The excursion offered many interesting aspects for everybody. One of the top matches of Spanish soccer for all students who are keen on sports; the Prado museum for the art lovers; and the king's palace Palacio Real, the Plaza mayor, the royal botanical garden etc. for the sightseeing fans. Moreover, the countless stores in the centre of Madrid tempted many students to go window-shopping and many bars and cafes as well as the famous Mercado San Miguel offered the possibility to get to know the culinary variety of this town. In this manner, the students of the language school in Valencia could experience the different perspectives of Madrid very closely and, at the same time, – as an additional benefit – they could apply what they had learned in their Spanish classes in Valencia to real-life situations. Since the participants of this excursion came from a lot of different countries, they could only talk in Spanish with each other. Besides, during the day, there were also many opportunities to talk to the inhabitants of Madrid about the Spanish cuisine, the upcoming soccer match or the Spanish weather. Taking advantage of such an exciting programme, the idea to learn Spanish in Valencia can only be successful! When the students returned to their Spanish lessons in Valencia on Monday morning, they felt the same way; very tired but overwhelmed by all the unforgettable impressions.

Spanish school in Valencia offers school trips to the Mediterranean coast of Spain: Fun and cross-cultural exchange at the same time
Many German Spanish classes have a problem with the organisation of student exchanges to Spain, because there are not as many German students in Spain as Spanish students in Germany. After the Spanish language school Costa de Valencia has already been involved in the preparation of many school trips over the past years, it now offers a certain school trip programme that is specialized on the needs of foreign school classes.
Valencia. Saying good bye is always difficult: when the school classes say goodbye to their host families at the end of their stay, tears are often shed. “The living together as a family and the joint meals forge a bond rapidly. We have often heard that the contact between the families and our language students does not end after the departure to Germany,” says Andreas Teßmer, manager of the Spanish school Costa de Valencia. The language institute in the heart of the Spanish metropolis Valencia offers, beside its extensive offer of Spanish courses, the organisation of school trips and enables these students not only to improve their Spanish knowledge, but also to get an intensive insight into the Spanish culture and the Spanish everyday life. With this programme Costa de Valencia is one of the few language schools in Spain that has specialized, besides its regular course offers, in fulfilling the needs of whole school classes. “Because of the low number of Spanish students who learn German, the organisation of student exchanges becomes more and more difficult. We would like to compensate this problem and, hence, offer school classes from all over the world the possibility to improve their Spanish with our language courses and to dive into the Spanish culture during their stay with their host families where they can get an impression of the Spanish everyday life and where they can use their new Spanish skills in actual conversations,” says Teßmer. Besides, a diverse leisure programme, that Costa de Valencia also organises if requested, gives the students many further impressions of the Spanish culture and provides for the fact that no-one is starting to get bored. But also the mild climate of the Spanish east cost is a very important aspect of the school trip offers that are becoming more and more popular. Sun, fun, culture and high-quality Spanish courses – these are the reasons why school classes decide to do a school trip in co-operation with this language school in Valencia.
